Healthy Huntsville Walk 3

On Saturday October 3rd, WellStone Behavioral Health partnered with Recovery Services and the Huntsville Municipal Court to participate in the Walk for a Healthy Mind & Body. The walk took place at Indian Creek Greenway in Huntsville and was part of the Healthy Huntsville initiative and Mayor Battle’s 100 Miles in 100 Days Walking Challenge. Over 50 people were present to walk up to 4 miles as a way of demonstrating that consistent exercise contributes to both a healthy mind and a healthy body. As 1 in 5 people will experience a diagnosable mental health condition in any given year, it is more important than ever to focus on our overall health and wellness. This includes consistent exercise and a balanced diet, constantly learning new things, developing our social support system, and engaging with our community by serving a cause that is greater than ourselves.
