The Nova Academy is WellStone’s therapeutic preschool that prepares children ages 3-5 for success in the public school system. Families and friends packed the house on December 17th to enjoy the Academy kids, outfitted with special reindeer antlers, present a wonderful concert of Christmas carols. Even Santa Claus himself dropped by to say hello and to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. But the real Santa for the Nova Academy this year was Bobbi Maples and her team of caring folks from the Books-A-Million store at the corner of North Memorial Parkway and University Drive in Huntsville. The Books-A-Million team supported the Nova Academy kids for the second consecutive year by raising over $6,000 worth of gifts that were distributed to all 35 children and their families. In addition to collecting the donations, the BAM team did all the gift wrapping and handed out packages to all those in attendance. Everyone enjoyed the event and spent time visiting and enjoying a wide array of snacks after the concert.
