The Nova Academy, a therapeutic preschool for children ages 3-5, celebrated the end of summer and graduation with a program and luncheon on July 30, 2015. The Academy is a program of the Nova Center for Youth & Family, the child and adolescent division of WellStone Behavioral Health. With parents, grandparents, friends, and other family in the audience for the standing room only event, 37 preschool children were celebrated for completing their academic year and/or summer program. Several songs and activities demonstrated what the children had learned throughout the course of the year and each child received an individualized certificate for their accomplishments. Afterwards, the Nova Prevention program provided each child with new school supplies and a backpack and lunch and refreshments were enjoyed by all. Several of the children will now move to a school in the Huntsville, Madison County, or Madison public school systems where the Nova Center has an embedded clinician who can continue working with the child and their family for follow-up care. Congratulations to all our Nova Academy graduates!
