Counseling is available for young children through the Nova Center’s preschool and school-based services.
Preschool services are available at the Nova Academy, located at the Nova Center for Youth & Family at 1900 Golf Road in Huntsville (35802). The Academy is available to children ages 3-5 who have significant behavioral challenges that interfere with their ability to be successful at traditional preschool or daycare settings. The Academy is a half-day therapeutic preschool program with teachers, assistants, and mental health professionals who work with children and their families to prepare the child for kindergarten.
School-based services are available at over 60 schools in Madison County, City of Huntsville, City of Madison, Cullman County, the City of Cullman and surrounding areas. The Nova Center for Youth & Family provides mental health professionals at local schools to work collaboratively with school principals, counselors, and teachers in providing behavioral health services to children and their families. School-based services are available in an individual setting at the child’s school and are focused on helping the child succeed academically, in the family, and with peers.
