Counseling is available for children and adolescents 18 years of age or younger at the Nova Center for Youth & Family.
Outpatient counseling is provided by a mental health professional at the Nova Center in Huntsville and Cullman. Outpatient counseling is available for a wide variety of behavioral health conditions, including depression, anxiety, and attention deficit disorder, adjustment issues with family and friends, and school difficulties. Outpatient sessions are available on an individual basis, in a group setting, or as a family. Sessions are conducted according to a mutually agreed upon plan of care and are typically available weekly, bi-monthly, or monthly.
Outreach counseling is provided by a team of mental health professionals and clinical support personnel in the home and in the community. Outreach counseling is available for more serious behavioral health conditions that could increase the possibility of a young person being removed from their home. Outreach sessions are available on an individual basis with significant family involvement and are available weekly or multiple times a week for a limited amount of time (usually 3-4 months). Sessions are conducted according to a mutually agreed upon plan of care with the goal of stepping down to less intensive services when possible.
The Launch Program is an additional outreach service of the Nova Center that helps out-of-school youth ages 16-24 reach their educational and career goals. To learn more about Launch click here.
